Now, let's go through the steps to stop Spam Emails on Gmail

Step 1: Do not Subscribe or Signup for Newsletters from Random websites.

It is very common for us to use our Gmail account to Signup/Sign-In to various websites without having to fill out an entire form. However, while Signing up, Please make sure that you do not subscribe to random websites' newsletters or marketing emails. There's always a checkbox that says "allow us to send updates" do not forget to untick that box before clicking on the Signup.

Note: If you are a frequent visitor of the website or if it’s a news site, and you'd like to receive notifications at all times then it makes sense to signup for all their updates. If you are visiting the website only once or twice, there's no point in subscribing to their updates.
